Rainy Day Indoors
Eighteen activities for a day nobody is going out, half of them on the floor and half of them at the table.
Start with tape, because it costs four minutes and changes the hallway. A wiggling line down the floor is the balance line at two and the floor track at four, and at five it becomes the coin carry, which is the same line walked heel to toe with a saucer of coins that must not slide.
A wet afternoon is not one activity, it is three. The pattern that works is move, then sit, then move again. So: the tape track on the floor, then tweezers and chickpeas or the shadow match at the table, then the rope path with eyes closed when the sitting runs out. Each one is ten to twenty minutes, and three of them is the afternoon.
The long ones are worth saving for exactly this kind of day. The maze blueprint has a six year old taping a maze across the floor and then drawing it as a plan, and the cardboard loom will take a whole afternoon and still not be finished, which is the point of it.
The eighteen

Every one of these is dry and clears into a tub. If the rain stops, several of them go straight outside with chalk instead of tape, which the garden shelf explains.
